Unleash your full potential.
Our mission is you.
Every question has a place.
At the Jacob H. Carruthers Center, you have the freedom to be yourself and live your hopes and dreams.
Located in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, the Carruthers Center is deeply connected with Chicago’s history, culture and political discourse. The Center is a hub that serves as a creative laboratory in which students express ideas and share experiences that shape the future.
"The Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies has a rich history and culturally relevant lens that provides equity to students from underrepresented communities. It is a safe space of inclusion, especially for Black-identified students, to thrive through the cultivation of academic scholarship, creative arts, social justice and more."
Akua Cason
Interim Director
